To make a 'tangible social impact' is embedded in the vision of the School of Accountancy (SoA), and, as such, is included in teaching and learning, as well as in the research our staff perform. The staff of the SoA makes a societal impact through the engagement of large projects, involvement in their personal capacity, as well as involvement within the University landscape and the accountancy profession, either by means of serving on committees and/or being representatives of professional organisations. Various staff members also volunteer their time and knowledge serving boards of non-profit organisations including inter alia Stellenbosch Hospice; Maties Gemeenskapsdiens; ChangeAbility. Our students and academic trainees also have a societal footprint through various annual projects which include collections.
