The Stellenbosch University Alumni Relations Office, in partnership with the Stellenbosch University Museum and Simonsberg Residence, will host a special screening of the film RFK in the Land of Apartheid: A Ripple of Hope.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic visit by then US Senator Robert F Kennedy to South Africa where he delivered a series of speeches across the country, including a speech at Stellenbosch University's Simonsberg Residence.
This special screening of the film will be followed by a facilitated intergenerational discussion and will conclude with light refreshments.
In A Ripple of Hope, filmmakers Larry Shore and Tami Gold tell the story of Robert Kennedy's 1966 visit to South Africa using archival footage and interviews with some of the people who played a role in organising this visit.
