Gerard Paris took over from Werner Abrahams, Stellenbosch University's Director: Student Finance, from 16 September 2024 to the end of April 2025, looking after the Student Finance department. Abrahams recently joined The Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme Foundation NPC (ISFAP) as Chief Executive Officer.

Paris is no stranger to SU, as he previously took care of the Centre for Postgraduate Bursaries and Loans (CUBL) for an interim period. He has ample experience working for SAICA and the Department of Higher Education (DHET) in various tertiary institutions fulfilling various financial roles. Most recently he worked in a supporting role as Chief Financial Officer at False Bay TVET College for the past 18 month.
