Dear Graduand

Update on arrangements concerning the issuing of graduation documents

Further to our previous communication dated 13 March 2020 and 16 March 2020 respectively, we wish to update graduands on the arrangements concerning the issuing of graduation documents.

All qualifying March/April 2020 graduands will receive their qualifications in absentia, but will have the option of attending the December 2020 graduation for the ceremonial crossing of the stage, should circumstances pertaining to Covid-19 permit it. A further decision has been taken to send all graduation documents via registered mail, as an additional precautionary measure, and to further mitigate the risk of virus transmission.

Please therefore note that the collection of certificates and results will no longer take place at the venue and times as previously communicated.

Graduands are kindly reminded to complete and update their postal address information (should you not have done so already) by completing the absentia form. The link will remain active until Tuesday, 24 March 2020 at 12 noon.

COVID-19 has an immense impact on the world, the country and our institution. It is up to every one of us to play our part to ensure that the spread of the virus is limited. As this unprecedented situation continues to develop, the safety of employees and students remains our primary concern. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this decision and hope for your understanding and support during a very difficult time for all of us.

Kind regards

Dr Ronel Retief
