Date: 25 March 2025

Back by popular demand! This session follows up on our February Auxin discussion, where we shared how Stellenbosch University academics are integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into their teaching-learning-assessment practices. At the request of participants of that session, we invited some of these academics back for a panel discussion to dive deeper into the practical challenges and opportunities of AI in higher education.
In this Auxin, Sharon Malan (EMS), Lennox Olivier (Arts and Social Sciences), Melody Neaves (Engineering) and Hamman Schoonwinkel (EMS) will engage with your pre-submitted (see link below) and live audience questions. This session will thus provide practical insights and real-world strategies on:
- How can we redesign teaching to ensure learning in the age of AI
- Designing assessments that promote AI literacy and evaluative judgment
- Navigating discipline-specific challenges and ethical considerations in AI use
Submit your questions here help shape the discussion! We will address key themes from participant submissions before opening the floor for an interactive Q&A session.
As part of the session, we will also be sharing SU's brand new “Cool Things" AI Case Study Guide, showcasing innovative approaches from Stellenbosch University academics.
Don't miss this opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions, and critically explore the role of AI in your teaching-learning-assessment practices!
