What does it mean that Nelson Mandela is dead? The question is really: What does it mean to be a person in South Africa right now? What histories are available to interpret this moment? What is on the horizon? What responsibilities do we owe to memory? Is this the end of history?
Prof Kopano Ratele will be in conversation with Kneo Mokgopa
Prof Ratele is with the Stellenbosch Centre for Critical and Creative Thought and a professor of psychology at Stellenbosch University.
Kneo Mokgopa is an artist and writer living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa. They are a narrative consultant at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and a Thought Fellow with the Stellenbosch Centre for Critical and Creative Thought.
