This year's symposium's theme is: Reviewing “Engaged" partnerships for Social Impact: Catalysing cross-sector partnerships for long-term social impact.
Partners, thinkers and practitioners reviewing university-community partnerships for impactful change.
Guided by our strategic framework Stellenbosch University is committed to building reciprocal partnerships through Social Impact in service of society. As such SU explores reciprocal and mutually beneficial partnerships through which we co-create knowledge in order to realise this commitment. In responding to societal challenges and in partnership with communities SU remains committed to the application of our values – Excellence; Compassion; Accountability; Respect; Equity.
SU aims to find solutions for societal challenges, through Engaged Teaching & Learning, Engaged Research and Engaged Citizenship.
The aim of the Virtual Social Impact Symposium:
- create a platform for external societal stakeholders to engage with the university on the kinds of sustainable relationships which can be forged as partners working together to address societal challenges;
- celebrate existing social impact initiatives;
- further explore possible future partnerships and collaborations and;
- create a space for catalysing the possibility of new cross-sector partnerships to enhance long-term social impact.
