The Division of Radiation Oncology at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Academic Hospital is one of the provincial and national leaders in excellent cancer care, offering radiation therapy and chemotherapy for all types of cancer diagnoses. We form part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Stellenbosch University, a national and international leader in health professions education and biomedical research. To provide comprehensive cancer care to our patients our specialized multidisciplinary teams practice evidence-based oncology according to global standards in radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Our diverse team is composed of highly-trained and experienced professionals and includes clinical oncologists, medical officers, radiotherapy technologists, oncology nurses, oncology pharmacists, social workers, administrative staff as well as various supporting staff members. We are active nationally and internationally in professional bodies and societies and our staff contribute to national and international conferences. We are one of the largest training centres in South Africa and have many trainees from beyond our borders.​
