The SDG Index and Dashboards Report provides a report card for country performance on the historic Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The annual report shows how leaders can deliver on their promise and it urges countries not to lose the momentum for important reforms.

SEDA 2018: An Interactive Guide

The SEDA Interactive Guide is an interactive tool from Boston Consulting Group that displays SEDA (Sustainable Economic Development Assessment) Rankings.
They use 10 dimensions for ranking which can be viewed by country and compared to the world median.
There is also a visual representation of score changes over the last 10 years and a "Wealth to Well-being" coefficient.

National Women's Day - 9th August 2018

Th​e first National Women's Day was celebrated in 1995. South Africa had just become a democratic country at the time, and the day was declared a national holiday. Since then annual celebrations take place throughout the country. It has become one of the national holidays where activities are organised with women in prominent positions making appearances and giving speeches at different venues across the country. August has since been declared National Women’s Month.

South African SDG Hub ​releases important publication

sdg_hub_report_s.pngOn the 6th of August 2018, the South African SDG Hub launched the publication Implementing the SDGs in South Africa: Challenges and opportunities.

The digital version of the publication can be downloaded here.

In this publication, contributors from government, academia and development partners reflect on the effective implementation of the SDGs in South Africa.
The publication also co​​ntains some of the most recent data on South Africa’s implementation of the SDGs.

Mandela Week celebrations at Stellenbosch University

During July, Stellenbosch University (SU) celebrated International Mandela Day​ with various projects and initiatives.

Our theme this year was '100 ways to impact', in tribute of both 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela and
SU's centenary commemoration.

Staff and students of SU held a wide variety of events on Mandela Day and the days to follow that made an impact on society.
