MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine
For clinicians with an MBChB or equivalent
This MSc programme has been designed for students with an MBChB degree (or equivalent) who are interested in pursuing a Master in Science degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM). The MSc programme consists of course work and a research assignment.
The programme consists of the following modules:
- General Medical Aspects in Sport and Exercise Medicine
- Sport and Exercise Medicine in Special Populations
- Exercise Related Injuries
- Basic Sciences in Sport and Exercise Medicine
- Research Assignment
Please Note: This course provides foundational knowledge and clinical skills in sport and exercise medicine. To become a specialist in Sport and Exercise Medicine, you will be required to do an MMED in SEM.

This MSc programme is for students with an interest in the field of Sport and Exercise Medicine and is 100% research driven. It does not contain any compulsory course work or clinical skill development and you do not require an MBChB to register.

Electives
MBChB students are able to complete their electives at DiSEM. Students will be involved in projects relating to our areas of research, as well as get clinical experience in a public and private setting over the duration of their elective. This is a very competitive programme and requires an application process.
