Dermatology is the discipline dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of skin, scalp, hair and nail diseases.

It is a unique specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. All age groups are treated.

Our service is based at the Tygerberg Academic Hospital, the largest hospital in the Western Cape and the second largest hospital in South Africa. The service includes a busy daily outpatient clinic as well as a 10 bed ward for inpatient care. We are a referral centre for the surrounding primary and secondary care facilities.​
