The Experimental Medicine Group was established in 2023 to complement the clinical efforts in the Department of Medicine. The group consists of full-time researchers dedicated to contributing to the improvement of chronic disease management via the study of regulatory systems in terms of disease prevention, disease pathology, therapeutic target identification and drug discovery. The group is currently housed in the Division of Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine, but widely collaborates across departments, faculties and institutions.
The Experimental Medicine research group offers postgraduate students – both in medicine and in science – the opportunity to participate in projects supervised by an integrated team of scientists and clinicians. The approach to pertinent questions in the health sector is approached in a multidisciplinary manner, with consideration of patient lived experience.
