The occurrence of Foc
TR4 in Africa is limited to Metocheria Farms in northern Mozambique. The farm has
been established for the production of export Cavendish bananas near the town of
Namialo. The area previously consisted mainly of uncultivated land with some maize,
cotton and sisal fields, and patches of cooking type bananas (AAB). Neither
Fusarium wilt (Panama disease) and Moko disease, nor any other wilt disease of
banana, had been observed on these bananas. |  |
