Alumni
Welcome to Stellenbosch University

Stellenbosch University SA Foundation UK

In 2004, a friend of Stellenbosch University, Mr William Frankel OBE, registered a charity in the UK to create a platform where alumni and friends of the University could donate much-needed funds for deserving students and strengthen the ability of the University to achieve its strategic goals.

The Foundation is registered with the Charities Commission and in the last six years has raised over £1 072 100 in funding for Stellenbosch University.

So, how can you make a contribution in ensuring that SU continues to strive towards being an inclusive, innovative and future-focused world-class institution? How can our alumni and friends of SU in the UK give of their time, talent and treasure to ensuring that SU continues to achieve excellence well into the next 100 years?

  • For individuals

o    Donating through the foundation you can Gift AID your donation.

o    This means that for every £1 you give, the UK government will give a further 25p to the Foundation on your behalf. (This is a benefit for registered            UK  taxpayers and restricted to the value of tax paid in the year.)

  • For corporates, foundations, trusts and other group donations

o    Donating through the Foundation will allow for greater fiscal compliance in the UK.

o    Donating through the Foundation will allow for easier leverage against annual corporate tax returns for available benefits against charitable donations.

Donations to the Stellenbosch University Foundation can be made directly into the charity's bank account:
