The IWBT offers postgraduate programmes (HonsBSc, MSc, PhD and DSc degrees in Wine Biotechnology) to students with backgrounds in agricultural and natural sciences, including genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, plant biology, food science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science and physics). The programmes are unique in South Africa, and all students are involved in exciting projects using cutting edge technology. Students also receive exposure to the broader wine industry, providing access to careers in this dynamic environment. The programmes include formal lectures and/or experimental work.
