Within this area there are opportunities for research on specific lattice structures (for example, modular lattices) as well as research on the application thereof in combinatorics and nonlinear signal processing. The latter involves programming, preferably with Mathematica. Other research in this area involves using the techniques of logic and universal algebra to investigate the structure of certain classes of lattices (e.g. varieties and quasivarieties).
