Leading the team
Manie Lombard, Chief Director: Finance, is leading the SUNFin Implementation Project and chairs the SUNFin Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee includes representatives from Finance, Information Technology, Faculty Management, Information Governance, Research & Development, Internal and External Auditors, Visions, Oracle and the SUNStudent project. The Steering Committee is supported by a project implementation management team.
Seven interdivisional work streams – business optimisation, integration, data, testing, training, change management and vision implementation – have been established to pave the way for implementation. The work streams improve understanding and cooperation between divisions and build a sense of community among the various environments.

SUNFin's implementation partner is Visions. Founded in 1995, Visions is a South African-owned company with subsidiaries in the UK.
Visions is a Gold Partner of Oracle, the software vendor for SUNFin, and a preferred partner in Higher Education across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The consultancy services universities across these countries and is a trusted advisor to many of South Africa's higher education customers.
Visions has in-depth knowledge of South African higher education requirements and processes, a proven track record of successful implementations within Universities and has local expertise and a local footprint. Visions participates with institutions and authorities regarding legislative and statutory higher education requirements.
Linda Keating is the project manager for Visions. She is the lead for the Visions Implementation workstream.
Karen Strauss from Visions is the change manager on the SUNFin project. She is the lead on the change management workstream.
