What is the EDP mentor programme?
The EDP mentor programme was established in 2015 after senior EDP students volunteered to mentor first-year EDP students with their adjustment to university. Since then, senior EDP students can apply annually to serve as mentors to first-year EDP students. After their compulsory training sessions, new mentors conduct weekly sessions with their first-year mentees, focusing on activities aimed at facilitating mentees' successful integration into the academic community.
The objective of the EDP mentor programme is to offer first-year EDP students moral and academic support to build their confidence and help them succeed in their new academic environment. It provides first-year EDP students with the opportunity to share their lived experiences and challenges with a senior EDP student who has faced similar challenges, but has adjusted successfully and can serve as a role model of what can be achieved on the EDP.
