COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

  • All venues will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, as per the approved COVID-19 protocol. 
  • All protocols social distancing protocols will be upheld within the venues. A distance of 1.5m will be adhered to at all times.  
  • The wearing of a mask is compulsory for both graduands, guests and staff members for the full duration of the ceremony, including on the graduation stage. 
  • No guest or graduand will be allowed to enter the venue without a mask.
  • No eating will be allowed inside the venue - Only bottled water would be allowed.
  • Graduands, guest and staff will each have a separate entrance to relieve possible congestion at the entrance/exits.
  • Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
  • Graduands will be required to present themselves 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
  • No guest or graduand will be allowed into the venue without an admission ticket. 
  • Regrettably, no additional guest tickets will be available for any of the graduation ceremonies. 
  • We respectfully request graduands and guests over the age of 60 and/or with any comorbidities either not to attend the physical ceremonies or to take extra precautions. The physical graduation ceremonies will be live streamed for family and friends who are unable to attend in person. 
  • No additional tickets will be available to staff members, supervisors, or their relatives. 
  • Tickets are not transferable. 
  • Each graduand, guest and staff member will receive a unique seat number. Please do not move or change seats – the correct seating record and history will be required for contact tracing.   
  • All graduands and guests will be required to complete the Higher Health Check screening beforehand. All attendees should take a screenshot of their screening status and have it available to produce upon arrival at the venue. To enter the venue, a green/low-risk status is required. Graduands and guests with any other status will not be allowed entry. The Higher Health Check application can be accessed via: https://healthcheck.higherhealth.ac.za   
  • The hooding process will not take place to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols. Accordingly, no staff members will be allowed to hood their relatives. 
  • We respectfully request all attendees to leave the venue as swiftly as possible after the event for the venue to be cleaned and sanitised for the next ceremony. 
  • After the event photographs can be taken, however this will have to be done outside and within the set timeframe.
  • Please Note: No other staff members or their relatives will be allowed access to the venue (or receive admission tickets) due to the limited capacity and the need to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols.  ​
