​​What are the latest research findings on carbon farming, soil conservation and new technologies in the agricultural sector? This conference brings together researchers and roleplayers in agriculture to talk about the role of sustainable agricultural practices in the struggle against global warming.

Key speakers include Prof Karin Jacobs, a specialist in microbial ecology in the Department of Microbiology at Stellenbosch University; Felix Reinders, chairperson of the Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture; Prof Raymond Auerbach, a board member of the Agricultural Research Council; Dr Johan Strauss, senior scientist in sustainable cropping systems research at Stellenbosch University; Dr George van Zijl, a soil scientist from North-West University; Prof Pardon Muchaonyerwa, a soil scientist in the School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal; Egon Zunckel, founder of Zunckel Farms; Dr Garrry Paterson, soil scientist at the Agricultural Research Council;  Akim Riemer, the general of Green Guerillas; Gray Maguire, carbon project manager at Climate Neutral Group; Guy Thibaud, soil scientist at UKZN; Heinrich Muller, irrigation designer at Overberg Agri; André Labuschagne from Syngenta; Prof Gert Venter, international seawater greenhouse and hydroponics consultant; Dr Lennox Xolile Mtshaki, president of the Black Farmers Association of South Africa; Peter Searll, managing director of Transformus; Dr Charlene Janion-Scheepers from the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cape Town; and will include a field trip on the third day.
