By the middle of the 18th century honeybush was by far the preferred tea in the Cape of Good Hope. Come and enjoy a cup of iced honeybush tea with us while Jannie Hofmeyr talks to Prof Lizette Joubert and Dr Cecilia Bester from the Agricultural Research Council about the establishment of a honeybush tea industry in South Africa. Prof Ann Louw, biochemist, will explain her research on the cancer combating characteristics of this indigenous species.

Science Café Stellenbosch is an initiative of SU's Faculty of Science to promote discussions of scientific issues in a language that everyone can understand. During Woordfees the talks will take place at Die Plataan. Entrance is free, but come early to grab a good seat.
