The strong reaction elicited by research published by some of our colleagues in the Department of Sport Science points to the need for deep reflection about the appropriateness of race-based research, especially in the South African context. 

You are invited to attend a symposium on this topic where invited panellists from various disciplinary backgrounds will provide a brief input followed by discussion involving the audience.
