Topic: Strategies for Supervision

Summary: After our Tips for Teaching panel discussion, we will focus on student supervision this Friday. Come and enjoy Friday refreshments at 11h30 (instead of the usual 10h00) in room 3019, whereafter everyone interested can join in the discussion around student supervision. Panel members will share their tips for supervision and answer questions from the audience. The audience are also invited to share their own tips. The idea is an open discussion about good practice in student supervision, ideas on how to overcome stumbling blocks, and sharing tips that made supervision easier and more effective towards research. Dr Jaco Franken will be facilitating the session, along with panel members Prof Stephan Visagie (Logistics), Prof Tertius de Wet (Statistics), Prof Ronel du Preez (Vice-dean EBM faculty) and Prof Johan Fourie (Economics).
