Herewith an invitation to an upcoming lecture in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences' Dean's Distinguished Leader Lecture series. These lectures provide an opportunity for us to hear eminent leaders, from across the spectrum of public, private and plural sectors, talk about their personal vision and involvement in addressing some of society's most pressing issues.

Our speaker is Dr Keith Martin, a physician and founding Executive Director of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). Dr Martin previously served as a Member of Parliament in Canada's House of Commons. In 2004, he was appointed to the Queen's Privy Council for Canada. His main areas of focus are in global health, foreign policy, security, international development, conservation and the environment.

Dr Martin is a board member of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Annals of Global Health. He also serves as an advisor to Seed Global Health, the International Cancer Expert Corps, Global Sepsis Alliance, American University of Beirut's Global Health Institute and McGill University's Global Health Program. He is a member of the Lancet-ISMMS Commission on Pollution and Health.
