Stellenbosch University's (SU) Centre for Undergraduate Bursaries and Loans (CUBL) announced that prospective undergraduate students can now apply for funding as the application process opened on Friday, 1 July 2022. Applications are open until 30 September 2022.

CUBL forms part of SU's Finance division, and a team of professional financial aid practitioners support prospective and current undergraduate students who wish to apply for financial aid by granting and administering bursaries sustainably.

“Financial need should not keep a prospective student from enrolling at SU," says Bianca Andrews, CUBL Bursary Officer. “Once a prospective student has been offered provisional admission to a programme and received a student number, the student should explore the funding options available on our new website here."

Andrews says SU does not only award bursaries on financial need but also academic merit. She encouraged students to visit the website. “We have many external donor bursaries available, and students should investigate whether they qualify for those. We also encourage current undergraduate students whose family financial situation may have changed over the past year, or who will have a second and/or third sibling enrol at the University for the upcoming academic year, to review the funding options available and to apply for financial aid".

Students who want to apply for funding need to do so via the my.sun.ac.za portal link. Remember to visit the CUBL website for more information on the funding options available. Please note that late admissions will only be granted a twenty (20) day extension up to 30 November 2022. For queries, please contact our student Client Contact Centre at 021 808 9111.
