The Writing Lab's Workshop in Academic Writing Skills for Research Proposals provide postgraduate students with the opportunity to refine their academic writing skills in an interactive, practical way and to receive answers about academic writing in general. Various topics about writing research proposals will be discussed, such as the purpose and planning of the proposal, components of the proposal, style, and structure. However, the purpose of the workshop is not to furnish participants with a recipe or rigid writing 'rules' but rather to provide  guidelines about using different writing strategies to effectively convey information, data and arguments.
