​SABC parliamentary reporter Lukhanyo Calata is an award-winning journalist, who has worked for eNews (now eNCA) among others before joining the national broadcaster in 2011. He became one of the SABC 8 in 2016 when he challenged Hlaudi Motsoeneng's reign of censorship at the public broadcaster. He is the son of Fort Calata, one of four anti-apartheid activists from Cradock, assassinated by the Government in 1985. With his wife, Abigail, he is the author of 'My Father Died for This'.

Abigail Calata is a former journalist who has worked for Beeld as a parliamentary correspondent, Die Burger, and the University of Cape Town before joining the Shoprite Group as Publicity Manager: CSI & Africa. She is a Stellenbosch University alumna. With her husband, Lukhanyo, she is the author of My Father Died for This.
