​​FUNDING SUPPORT

All prospective postgraduate students are REQUIRED to apply for external funding for postgraduate studies, unless fully self-funded. 

Postgraduate students can apply for funding from several funding bodies, including the National Student​ Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS),  National Research Foundation (NRF), South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and Private Foundations. Funding opportunities in South Africa are often preferentially awarded to South African citizens; therefore, international students are advised to seek international funding before​​ enrolment at Stellenbosch University.
