Communication and Liaison

Communication and Liaison creates a favourable climate in which to promote the values, ideals and vision of the University through accurate and targeted strategic communication to our friends, alumni, donors and partners. We engage in marketing, communication and liaison to promote the messages of Stellenbosch University, its academic vision and its many successes to enhance our visibility, brand perception and recognition regionally, nationally and internationally.

This department is split into two main branches namely e-Communication and Marketing & Publication.

The e-Communication team is responsible for the management of the University’s electronic communication channels.

The sending of mass e-mails, e-newsletters (the Boschtelegram) and emergency SMS's also form part of the team’s responsibilities.

Marketing and Publication is made up of three interactive and interdependent divisions: The Media Office, Publications and Public Relations.

Media Office

The office is responsible for media releases, the development of newsworthy stories for the various news mediums within the university sphere (such as Matieland, Kampusnuus, and the SU website) as well as the external media.

Publications

This branch of the Communication and Liaison department is responsible for the University’s Afrikaans and English corporate print publications.
