Dr Ndivhuwo is a researcher at the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, Stellenbosch University. She obtained her PhD from Stellenbosch University, Department of Biochemistry with a focus on the chemical and enzymatical synthesis of sugar molecules and subsequent evaluation of the compound as either substrates or inhibitors for MshB, a metallohydrolase found in actinomycetes including Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
