  • An article on the context of the Confessions for the volume on Augustine to be published by Cambridge University Press in the series "Literature in Context" (for publication in 2016)
  • An article on Augustine and the Making of Christian Martyrdom for the Wiley-Blackwell Companion to Christian Martyrdom (for publication in 2017)
  • Co-editing a volume on ancient protreptic (for publication with Brepols in 2017)

Member of the executive committee; responsible for students with special requirements; chair of the Faculty Teaching Committee (2013-2015); revision of the Faculty Policy on the Assessment and Recognition of Prior Learning (2014); co-supervisor for the project to commemorate the history of the forced removals at the site of the Arts and Social Sciences Building (2013-2015); chair of CASA Western Cape branch (2011-2012); vice-chair of CASA (national committee) (2011-2012; 2015 to the present); editorial board of the journal Akroterion; periodic reviewing of articles for HTS and other South African journals as well as for Brill
