The Department of Afrikaans and Dutch
is offering a Dutch-language acquisition course. In this course we focus on the
following four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. You will be
introduced to the Dutch and Flemish cultures. The approach will be interactive
and practice-oriented, and the lessons will build your confidence in speaking
Dutch. The learning process of each student is central to the course.
This course will also prepare you for attaining the Certificate of
Dutch as a Foreign Language (www.cnavt.org). The certificate can be attained at
different levels (from A2 to C1, according to the Common European
Framework of Reference). The level-B2 certificate allows you to study and
work in Belgium and the Netherlands as it is officially recognised by most
Belgian and Dutch universities and companies.
