Welcome to Stellenbosch University
Students invited to join global conversation at SUEEC

Dear SU Student

Re: Stellenbosch University Experiential Education Conference (SUEEC)

We wish to share with you a wonderful opportunity that will enable you to showcase the excellent work you are doing within the experiential education domain. Your involvement in experiential learning activities is highly regarded and noted by the Centre for Student Leadership, Experiential Education and Citizenship, and we therefore invite you to present this to the SUEEC global audience.

The opportunity for you to do this is at the Exemplar Showcase. SUEEC provides an extraordinary opportunity for students like yourself to showcase the good work being done and to promote this both internally and externally.

Exemplar Showcase: Share a 3-minute video clip of experiential learning at your university or organisation and contribute to the exemplar showcase of global best-practice. Essentially, where you show what students are doing in the field (experiential education in action).

Exemplar Submissions close: 11 October 2020

What you will need to do to put together your 3-minute video clip is to make sure you have a story to tell. Prepare your story, make sure you have your players involved, to ensure your story exciting. And remember – it is not about you, but rather the impact of the work being done. Think of yourself as the narrator of the story, making use of voice-over functionality in the video. A prerequisite is that there must be engagement in the video which showcases the work of the experiential learning activity.

Having this video clip will be incredibly valuable in your work for research, reporting and presentation purposes going forward.

Herewith some resources to get you thinking about the possibilities of showcasing your work:

An additional option to be considered is the WOW (Window On the World) networked partnership session, which differs from the Exemplar Showcase in that the emphasis is on you providing others with insights on who you are and the value of your work:

WOW (Window On the World): Join a networked partnership session and share a 2-minute window on your world, tell the global experiential educators a bit about yourself, your role, your institution, and why your work matters to you.

WOW submissions close: 11 October 2020

Kindly note that if your submission to either of the above is accepted, you will gain free access to the SUEEC. Submissions not accepted will be shared online as on-demand content.

Please join us on 10-11 November 2020 by participating and contributing in one or more of the SUEEC opportunities.

Please explore our website (www.sueec.com), register for the conference and share this opportunity with others.

Please contact us on experientiallearning@sun.ac.za if you would like additional support.
