Celebrate African University Day

Stellenbosch University (SU) will join higher education institutions on the continent celebrating African University Day on 12 November. Commemorated by the Association of African Universities (AAU), the day has been celebrated by higher education institutions since 2006.

The theme for this year's celebration is 'Achieving the Africa We Want: The Role of Young People'.

The theme highlight the critical role the youth need to play in influencing policy, legislative and social change; disrupting the status quo; and taking on a more active role in ensuring that we attain the 'Africa we want' by 2065. This year's theme draws its inspiration from the overall vision for Africa based on the aspirations of African Countries as articulated in the Agenda 2063.

SU's African University Day celebrations include a seminar, movie night and gala dinner on 15 and 16 November. It is hosted by SU International.
