Feedback as dialogue in doctoral supervision by Professor Elke Stracke from the University of Canberra in Australia

Feedback lies at the heart of any learning experience, and giving and receiving feedback is an important and integral part of postgraduate supervision practice. This interactive workshop draws on recent research on the feedback process. In the workshop we will explore:

  • what feedback is,
  • examine supervisors' written language use and candidates' reactions,
  • develop critical awareness of potential conflict due to language use and cross-cultural differences,
  • the Feedback Expectation Tool (FET), and
  • strategies to provide and receive effective and dialogic feedback.

Date: Tuesday 18 April 2023

Time: 12:30 - 14:00

Venue: Room 3008, GG Cillie Building, (corner of Crozier & Ryneveld streets), Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch

Please RSVP before 17 April to: Natasha Swartz: nswartz@sun.ac.za
