Research Data Management (RDM) is a core principle of good research practice and scientific integrity. It entails the process of planning how research data will be managed during and after a research project and how the collection, processing, analysis, sharing, curation, and reuse of research data will be controlled in compliance with legislative, funder, information governance and University requirements. The SU RDM Regulations are part of the University's research governance framework and were approved by Senate in November 2020. These regulations are currently being implemented by SU researchers and support divisions. In this session the presenters will give an overview of the provisions of the Regulations, the responsibilities of researchers and support divisions and the RDM platforms and tools that are available to researchers. Representatives from the various research support divisions that deliver RDM services and researchers at SU will share their experiences with the practical implementation of RDM by referring to specific cases. Thereafter the floor will be open for discussion.
