The project of change and transformation is one that is a shared engagement. A space for learning other ways of being, new ideas and unlearning old understandings. Learning and unlearning are part of the decolonial process which includes activism, how we do research, what we think is inclusive teaching and learning. The aim of the Siyakhula (Un)learning: Decolonial Dialogue 2021, is to interrupt our thinking, our assumptions about teaching, learning and pedagogy. The central purpose of education is to address inequality and oppression by identifying and working to transform relationships of power. The Siyakhula facilitated sessions are an opportunity for staff to reflect and ask of themselves and each other:

How do we contribute to equity and social justice through how we teach, supervise, mentor, write, and research? How can our work increase access and inclusion? Whose voices are missing or ignored in our work?
