The Department of Journalism will host a conversation on "Borders, Identity and Belonging" featuring writers Mark Gevisser and Suketu Mehta on Friday 13 March (16:00-17:30).

Mark Gevisser is a leading South African journalist and author of Thabo Mbeki: The Dream Deferred and Lost and Found in Johannesburg: A Memoir. His work has been published in publications ranging from the Mail & Guardian to the New York Times Magazine. His latest work, The Pink Line: Journeys Across the World’s Queer Frontiers, will be released in May 2020.

Suketu Mehta is an Associate Professor of Journalism at New York University and author of Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found. His work has been published in publications ranging from Time magazine to the New York Times. His latest work, This Land is Our Land: An Immigrant’s Manifesto, was released in 2019.
