In the spirit of the Apollo programme, Stellenbosch University's Faculty of Science brings together scientists and engineers in a public lecture to mark the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landing on the moon on the 20th of July 1969. Come and learn about the history, the science and the technology behind the mission which captivated the world. High-school learners are especially encouraged to attend. This event forms part of our National Science Week activities. 

To round off the evening, there will be a screening of the documentary Apollo 11 at Pulp Cinema at 8pm. 

The evening is free and open to all, but RSVP is required for the public lecture and/or the movie showing. For enquries, contact science@sun.ac.za.  ​
