Twins brought up in two
different contexts – one in a resourced home and one in poverty –
will enter adulthood with very different opportunities and possibilities.
Closing the opportunity gap for under-resourced learners requires everyone to
get involved in the development of our children and youths. This demands a
multidisciplinary response from academia, civil society and government. Given
the constraints of the existing CAPS curriculum, enrichment programmes after
formal school hours offer an opportunity to close the gap. Extended
education is increasingly being recognised as a key field for investment and
action. Join us to find out more about what is happening in the sector and the
opportunities for collaborative projects, research and student engagement.
