Title: Future technologies in public transport and unfriendly ecosystem

Abstract:

Transport is often associated with economic development by connecting cities or regions, however, it can generate substantial environmental impacts such a pollution. In addition to pollution, transport can also bring non-local species into new habitats, risking significant harm to local species. Construction of large transport projects can alter the key characteristics of an entire ecosystem.

Public transport is being given new opportunities to grow and expand, as well as challenged by the emergence of new actors and technologies that have been enabled by the digital economy. Our mobility systems are under increasing and often unsustainable pressure, reaching high levels of congestion and excessive levels of car use, at a very high cost to the economy and the health of urban inhabitants. Mr. Nododa will present on the future technologies in public transport and unfriendly ecosystem.
