What is the urgency and the importance
of this topic?
Intersectionality between the
Palestinian struggle and other struggles beyond the thin strip of land in the Middle East: How does the study of Zionism as a
political ideology surface the systems and ideologies that support supremacy,
systemic violence and colonialism on a global level?
Christian guilt over Jewish suffering:
Can an analysis of
Christianity’s complicity in the oppression of Palestinians lead to a new
hermeneutic to replace the post-war focus on atonement for church
anti-Semitism?
Beyond interfaith dialogue: Unwritten rules block criticism of Israel and those who criticise Zionism are
called anti-Semitists. How
can the church confront this challenge? How can Christians forge
more genuine and loving relationships with Jews on institutional and personal
levels, even in the face of the severe resistance coming from fellow Christians
and from Jewish colleagues when criticism of Israel arises?
An Ecumenical Movement for the 21st
Century: Returning to the fundamental
question raised by Barmen and Belhar, we shall ask how is church theology
manifesting in our time? How can this prompt us to a renewed exploration of the
meaning of ecumenism?
Please feel free to extend this
invitation to friends and colleagues who may be interested.
