The Stellenbosch University Museum and the Stellenbosch University Development and Alumni Relations Unit are hosting a book launch and exhibition opening at the Stellenbosch University Museum on Thursday 31 May, starting at 18:00.

The award-winning photographer Dr Omar Badsha will be in conversation with Prof Lize van Robbroeck from Stellenbosch University's Visual Art Department about his new book, Seedtimes.

This celebrated artist and South African social documentary photographer is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate, awarded by Stellenbosch University in 2017, and of the National Order of Ikhamanga (silver), awarded by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018.

Dr Badsha is regarded as one of South Africa's leading anti-apartheid cultural activists, artists and documentary photographers. His work has been exhibited both locally and internationally and can be found in significant public collections in South Africa and in leading galleries and institutions abroad.

Copies of Omar Badsha's latest book, Seedtimes, will be on sale at the book launch.
