Please note the following regarding the outcome of Creative Research Outputs Submissions:

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) operates on a biennial cycle. This means that you can expect to receive the outcome of your creative research output, as well as any SOS funds (where applicable), two years after you have submitted the output.

The outcome of outputs submitted in 2023 can be expected in 2025 (we are awaiting communication from DHET regarding this outcome), outputs submitted in 2024 can be expected in 2026, and outputs submitted for the 2025 cycle can be expected in 2027.

PLEASE NOTE: DHET is in the process of implementing a "double-blind" peer review process. DHET will allocate outputs to peer reviewers for review. Researchers no longer need to nominate their own peer reviewers

Submission of Creative Research Outputs for subsidy purposes 2025

Researchers now have the opportunity to submit their creative research outputs to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for formal recognition and subsidy purposes.

The internal closing date for submissions of these outputs is Friday, 4 April 2025.

 The open data repository Figshare (https://figshare.com) is available as a platform to share a link to the output.

Please consult the FAQs document for more information pertaining to your submission.

 We would like to emphasize a few important matters:

 Categories of outputs that qualify for subsidy and contact persons for each category; researchers are encouraged to ask the internal review panel member representing their prospective submission category for advice:
