Faculty's top lecturers honoured

The 2017 winners of the top lecturer competition of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences were honoured at a prestigious event at Clos Malverne Restaurant on Friday, 6 October.

Mrs Eloise de Jager of the School of Accountancy is the overall winner of the competition. Prof Edwin Theron of the Department of Business Management is the runner-up and Prof Sarel Steel of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science is third in this, the seventh annual competition of its kind sponsored by Die Burger.

Every department, including the University of Stellenbosch Business School, nominated its top lecturer. They are:

  • Samantha Adams (Department of Industrial Psychology),
  • Eloise de Jager (School of Accountancy),
  • Ulrike Kussing (Department of Logistics),
  • Dr Babette Rabie (School of Public Leadership),
  • Prof André Roux (US Business School),
  • Dr Debra Shepherd (Department of Economics),
  • Prof Sarel Steel (Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science) and
  • Prof Edwin Theron (Department of Business Management).

All these lecturers are winners in their own right but have also competed for the position of top lecturer of the Faculty.
