As part of its Mandela Day celebrations, the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Stellenbosch University (SU) launched a project in July this year to provide for a cleaner, safer, healthier and cheaper way of cooking in communities in Stellenbosch.

The #Stovesfor10Towns project hopes to donate cost effective Mimi Moto stoves to families who has no other means of cooking than on an open fire or by using paraffin.

Giving further impetus to the initiative, the SRC has now launched the #StoveNomination project by which entities can be nominated to donate or sponsor one of these stoves.
