It is that time of the year when communities and businesses alike are standing together to raise awareness of issues of disability – Casual Day.

To celebrate Casual Day, staff and students of Stellenbosch University are all invited to take part in a challenge to determine how accessible our campus is.

Date: Friday 2 September 2016
Time: 12:30 – 14:00
Place: Rooiplein (Neelsie student centre in case of rain), Stellenbosch campus

The University's Disability Unit, the Transformation Office, and Human Resources Wellness are the organisers of this event.

The 2016 Casual Day theme is "Up your game" and students and staff are encouraged to dress up as supporters or participants of their favourite sports game. There are prizes up for grabs for staff and students.

The challenge, "Up your Access Game", is a team activity to emphasize the difference access can make to the work and study success of persons with disabilities. Teams should consist of five members to enter.

To enter, participants must buy a R10 Casual day sticker, have cell phone with a camera for the challenge and wear comfortable clothes.

Teams can register online at https://goo.gl/forms/xiBTkhAJM0myk3qG3

Stickers can be ordered from SU's HR division. Contact Adele Josias at 021 808 2867 or adelej@sun.ac.za
