Director of the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, Dr Morne Mostert, has been appointed as non-executive chairman of global leadership think tank, World Leadership Day (WLD), after serving a term as its President.

This came immediately after WLD announced that USA-based social entrepreneur and international leadership specialist, Dr Anita Davis-Defoe, has been appointed as its new President. Mostert was appointed as Director of the IFR in September 2015, and agreed with WLD to end his term as President on 31 March 2016.

On succeeding Dr Mostert, Dr Davis-Defoe observed, "during his term as President he has raised the profile of African leadership on the international stage and has positioned Futures as an important strategic competence for senior leaders".

The new President, based in Fort Lauderdale Florida, is an international thought leader and renowned author on leadership and gender dynamics.

World Leadership Day is a global think tank on leadership in all its various facets. It is run by global ambassadors and has an influential global footprint, with a presence in 18 countries on five continents. The annual global WLD event occurs on 20 March, commemorating the founding of the organization in Sydney in 2007.
