The field of Historical Archaeology on Stellenbosch started in 1976 where the Drostdy (read Theological Seminary) occupies a very important role. Cultural artefacts, spread across the world from the Far East as well as Western kitchen equipment, were found in detectable dating contexts and identified.

Prof Hendrik Bosman, acting dean of the Faculty of Theology, Stellenbosch University cordially invites you to the opening of an exhibition of artefacts from excavations on the site and reflecting the early history of Stellenbosch.
