Scope of Research: Crystal engineering – design, synthesis and characterisation of magnetically interesting materials. The project involves investigation of the coordination behaviour of organic radicals.
Host: This project will be carried out in the Supramolecular Materials group in the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science at Stellenbosch University.
Requirements: PhD (must have graduated within the last five years). The successful candidate will have experience in inert atmosphere synthesis, X-ray crystallography or EPR.
Commencement of duties: As soon as possible.
Duration of fellowship: One year, with a possible renewal for a second year.
Financial support: A bursary valued at R215,000 per annum is available.
Please note that postdoctoral research fellows are not eligible for employee benefits since they are registered as research fellows and their bursaries are awarded tax free.
